The basic issue in the current research is the selection and prioritization of portfolio projects of modern technologies and defense medicine in an industrial research organization based on the portfolio management standard. Through library studies and interviews with experts, the criteria for selecting and prioritizing these projects were calculated in the form of five main criteria (including technical, resource, strategic, socio-political, and biomedical and defensive) and 22 sub-criteria. The statistical population includes managers and experts of biotechnology projects of an industrial research organization and two Imam Hossein University (AS) and Baqiyatullah University of Medical Sciences (AS) and their affiliated research centers. With a targeted sampling strategy from among available experts and experts, people who are more familiar with the field of modern technologies and defense medicine, missions and research centers related to this specialized field, and also have knowledge about things related to project portfolio management, for 55 people were chosen to answer the questionnaire, and 47 cases were received after distributing the questionnaire. To check the validity of the research, the Lawshe formula was used and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to check the reliability. To investigate the hypothesis tests, one-sample t-test was used, and to determine the weight of the main criteria and sub-criteria, the hierarchical analysis method was used. In the end, the Vicor method was used to rank and select the projects, and the biology system project won the first rank among the six new technologies and defense medicine projects.
