Abstract
The competitive conditions faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) compel them to acquire more resources, respond quickly to market changes, innovate more, and develop agility capabilities. However, achieving agility requires implementing organizational processes with an open model, which is obtained through information sharing and collaboration with external partners. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to present an agility model with an open approach in selected SMEs in the Yazd industrial Estate, which for the first time examines agility with an open approach. In this study, the qualitative approach of database and Atlas software was used. The data collection and analysis process involved conducting open and in-depth interviews, and considering the research content and expert capabilities, saturation was achieved with 23 interviews. In the coding process and model dimension determination, 161 open codes, 21 axial codes, and 6 selective codes were identified. Companies implementing agility with an open approach achieve rapid response to changes, organizational flexibility, an innovative and agile work environment, and the creation of an open business model.
